The Canarian Vacation Rental Association (Ascav) celebrated this Thursday the approval by Germany of direct aid of 300 euros to retirees so they can spend the winter in a warm destination, as it will boost reservations in tourist accommodations on the islands.
In a statement, Ascav assures that the announcement of the measure caused an increase of 20% in long-stay reservations, so the approval will give a new boost.
Germany has approved an aid package of 65,000 million euros to families and companies, which includes a single check of 300 to retirees to alleviate the effects of the energy crisis, the note states.
Ascav insists in the statement on the high demand for vacation homes from individuals on the islands, both near and far from tourist centers, and that the economic impact it generates is greater than 1,500 million euros.
Vacation homes directly reach more than 70,000 Canarian families and generate more than 35,000 direct jobs without considering indirect jobs, the note highlights. EFE
