Representatives of Lanzarote will have the opportunity to present at the International Interior Tourism Fair (INTUR) this weekend in Valladolid, the wide range of rural tourism on the island. Culture, nature and gastronomy, among other virtues of the inland villages, will be the protagonists. The event will bring together more than 25,000 visitors.

The Canary Islands delegation at the fair also includes representatives from Gran Canaria, La Palma and Fuerteventura, under the umbrella of Tourism of the Canary Islands. The archipelago's stand is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).

The objective of the Canary Islands' presence at INTUR is to reach directly the peninsular public interested in destinations that offer them vacations in natural environments of great value, with complementary activities also linked to nature and even adventure. Last year, peninsular tourism accounted for 21.2% of the total number of tourists who visited the Canary Islands.

The Minister of Tourism, Yaiza Castilla, recalled that "INTUR is the only domestic tourism fair that the Canary Islands attend and is the most important event aimed at this traveler held in the peninsula."

Castilla also explained that peninsular tourists are very loyal to the Canary Islands, with 7 out of 10 repeating. "Our objective -adds Castilla- is to maintain that loyalty and continue to give visibility to the Islands, even more so now that we have a Binter air route that connects the Canary Islands with Valladolid."

In this 25th edition of INTUR, the Islands have a stand of 50 square meters and five counters, and in addition to the exhibition space, there will be parallel activities such as the recreation with characters who will stage fragments of history linked to different Spanish territories.
