Job vacancies have increased in the Canary Islands compared to the pre-pandemic period, going from 3,203 in 2019 to 5,631 in 2022, which represents an increase of 75.80%, according to data from the National Institute of Statistics (INE) until September.
Thus, according to the latest labor cost survey published by the INE corresponding to the third quarter of the year, 14 of the 17 autonomous communities have seen their available job positions increase.
Within this classification, the islands occupy the third national position regarding greater growth between these two years, only surpassed by Asturias (131.44%) and the Valencian Community (116.32%).
For its part, the archipelago has also seen its number of unemployed decrease, going from 239,600 in 2019 to 204,200 in 2022, a decrease of 1.42%.
