A court in France has again condemned Volotea for evading between 2013 and 2017 the payment of taxes and Social Security contributions.

The Spanish airline connects Lanzarote with 9 destinations. One of them in Spain, specifically with the airport of Asturias, and eight others with the French cities of Bordeaux, Strasbourg, Lille, Lyon, Marseille, Nantes, Paris and Toulouse

The ruling comes precisely from a court in Bordeaux and responds to an appeal filed by the airline itself against a previous ruling, according to the news portal preferente.com.

The court obliges Volotea to pay several sanctions, as well as return the unpaid amounts

The conviction comes at a crucial moment for the company as it is waiting to be awarded the subsidized routes by the French State to connect Corsica with Marseille and Orly.

Volotea's offer for these routes would cost the French State almost half of what it pays for the current agreement with Air Corsica.
