The Lanzarote Business Circle has been awarded for its social commitment in the IV edition of the awards of the Association of Young Entrepreneurs (AJE) of the Canary Islands. José Valle, president of the Circle, along with other representatives of the entity, was present at the awards ceremony, held on Friday afternoon in the Plaza Santiago Apóstol of Gáldar.

In the last year, the Lanzarote Business Circle has dedicated a large part of its work to the "implementation of initiatives that aim to leave a mark on Lanzarote." Among them, the transformation plan for Arrecife, presented in collaboration with the Metrópoli Foundation and the Madrid World Capital Association (MWCC).

The objective is to "turn Arrecife into an attractive place through innovation and sustainability, working from the neighborhoods to the coast." Modern cities such as Bilbao, Malaga or Singapore are some examples of good practices that developed, in collaboration with the Metrópoli Foundation, innovative approaches of this type. In addition, this initiative projected in Arrecife is intended to be promoted in all the municipalities of Lanzarote, which will "put the island in the spotlight as a quality and model tourist destination."

The aforementioned project "puts the citizen at the center, making him/her participate in the decisions that affect his/her community. This participatory and inclusive spirit is a hallmark of the Circle, which aims to be a loudspeaker for the needs of local agents and promote structural improvements for the island."

In the same line of ideas, the launch of the "Impulse and Dynamization Unit of Transforming Projects for the island of Lanzarote" is added. This space, presented last May, will serve as "strategic support to all those people who want to develop projects that recover and transform Lanzarote."

For José Valle, president of the Business Circle, "it is an honor to receive this award. Our commitment, union, generosity and above all the love for our island make us a benchmark."

The AJE Canarias Award is an award aimed at business entities or business people under 41 years of age. This recognition values the young people of the Canary Islands who have managed to create a strong and competitive company, or entity, capable of generating employment and contributing to the wealth of the islands. Specifically, the award for social commitment is attributed for gathering attributes, values, attitudes and ideas that have led the business association not only to consolidate an excellent business project, but also to be a benchmark and example to follow for young people.
