The Canary film 'A una isla de ti', was one of the four projects selected from more than a hundred works presented to be exhibited in its entirety to the public at BrandStorytelling, an international reference event specialized in brand narratives that is held within the framework of the prestigious Sundance Film Festival, created by actor Robert Redford.

This film was selected for "its perfect combination of branding and entertainment," as explained by the jury composed of industry professionals. ‘A una isla de ti’ was screened for the public after a discussion on the possibilities of brand communication in the audiovisual industry.

In this forum, which brings together brands, agencies, directors, and content creators who share outstanding narrative projects such as films, series, podcasts, and creative formats, González explained the participation of Turismo de Canarias in promoting this comedy that narrates the love story between two men and which was filmed for five weeks in Gran Canaria, while a second filming unit recorded scenes in Fuerteventura. The port and the valley of Agaete, the Elder Museum of Science and Technology of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, the Global buses, the Maspalomas dunes or the Fuerteventura beaches are some of the locations that appear in the feature film, "which allows us to transmit the virtues of our destination in a non-intrusive and entertaining way," explains González.

A new award for ‘Discovering Canary Islands’

This same formula was used in the adventure reality show ‘Discovering Canary Islands’, which won in Miami the Rose d’Or Latino Award 2026 for Best Branded Entertainment Content. This is the first edition to incorporate a specific category for brand-driven entertainment content, equating it to fiction and premium audiovisual formats.

These awards have consolidated themselves as a key platform within the Ibero-American audiovisual industry when it comes to recognizing creative excellence, reinforcing the international visibility of content, and fostering connection between producers, platforms, and audiences.

“This new award reinforces our positioning as an innovative destination in tourism communication, capable of competing in the field of high-level entertainment content. Furthermore, it validates our strategy, which goes beyond traditional promotion by betting on narrative formats that connect emotionally with the audience and that allow us to extend the islands’ story to lesser-known aspects such as local culture and gastronomy,” highlights the Marketing Director of Tourism of the Canary Islands.

The two seasons of ‘Discovering Canary Islands’ can be seen in forty-two countries on the Rakuten TV platform, where to date it has achieved more than eighty million viewers in audience. In addition, Turismo de Islas Canarias has already won eleven awards, both national and international, with this reality show, hosted by the popular presenter Pilar Rubio and which featured the participation of sixteen European influencers as contestants
