Hostelan has reached an agreement with the Tías City Council to extend until October 29 the authorization that allowed restaurants and bars in the municipality to expand their terraces or establish "express terraces.", a measure implemented after the relaxation of regulations as a result of the pandemic.
This was announced by its representatives at a meeting held this Wednesday at the southern Consistory, in order to help companies overcome capacity restrictions.
Although the measure was initially established until the month of June, the dialogue between both parties has allowed the authorizations to be extended until the end of October, thus managing to overcome the summer period and offer better spaces to users in summer.
"The sector's commitment is to vacate all roads and public spaces ceded by the city council on October 30 in all restaurant and hospitality establishments in the municipality," says the representative of Hostelan, Cristóbal Sánchez, who at the same time thanked the local leaders for their willingness to understand and protect the sector.
During the meeting, the creation of a working group to discuss and reach agreements to try to regularize the terraces of the entire avenue and establish homogeneous criteria for aesthetics and image of the establishments and facades was also addressed, in order to reduce the visual impact they generate and set beautification criteria for the area.
The City Council has committed to the sector that the working group will be established "the first week of September."
