The Canary Islands launches calls for the granting of subsidies under a competitive tendering system for compensation to maritime and air transport of goods, managed by the Ministry of Public Works, Housing and Mobility, through the General Directorate of Transport.
The aid is announced for journeys made with origin or destination in the Canary Islands in 2023 and is published in the Official Gazette of the Canary Islands.
The Executive allocates a total investment of 1.66 million euros with the aim of compensating and reducing the cost of inter-island, maritime and air transport of said products during 2023.
In this sense, the General Directorate of Transport and Mobility allocates, on the one hand, a subsidy of 1,208,269 euros for the goods not included in Annex I of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union, and on the other hand, a subsidy of 452,000 euros for those that are included in Annex I of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union.
The deadline for submitting applications will be 15 business days, which cannot be extended, from the Publication in the Official Gazette of the Canary Islands.
Likewise, interruptions that may occur in the electronic headquarters will not increase the deadline for submitting applications, unless these incidents occur in the 24 hours prior to the end of the deadline, which, in any case, will be for a time equivalent to the time the service was interrupted.
