The municipality of Teguise went from having 21,152 inhabitants in 2013 to having 23,881 citizens ten years later. That is, 2,729 more inhabitants, according to data from the Continuous Register of the National Institute of Statistics (INE).
In the same period, the town of Costa Teguise added 1,264 residents, going from 7,876 inhabitants to 9,140, which represents 46.3% of the population increase in the municipality.
Secondly, in that same decade, Tahíche added 690 residents to a total of 4,914 citizens, which is equivalent to 25.2% of the population increase in the entire municipality of Teguise.
Meanwhile, La Villa de Teguise increased its population by 110 inhabitants to a total of 1,760 residents.
Both Caleta de Famara and Nazaret added more residents than La Villa in the same period. In the first, the population grew by 172 people to 1,139 inhabitants, while in Nazaret it grew by 119 people to 1,042 residents.
In La Graciosa, the resident population increased by 42 people between 2013 and 2023 to 723 inhabitants.
Few inland towns grew. Exceptions were Guatiza, with 68 more inhabitants to 880, Soo, which added 10 inhabitants to 632 residents, or Los Valles, where 23 more people live than ten years ago.
In most of the inland towns in the municipality, the population decreased. For example, Tao lost 6 inhabitants to 537; Mozaga lost 16 inhabitants to 399 and Muñique went from 371 inhabitants in 2013 to 359 people a decade later.
