A total of 36 new audiovisual projects, including feature films, series, animation, documentaries and short films, will receive support from the Government of the Canary Islands.

The selection has been made through three public calls organized during 2024 by the General Directorate of Cultural Innovation and Creative Industries, aimed at projects in both the development and production phases, as well as minority co-production. The investment as a whole is 2,800,000 euros.

The projects that will receive a grant have been chosen by three committees of experts. The list can be consulted in the Announcement Board.

In Production, eight projects are subsidized, out of a total of 24 submitted, which correspond to fiction films, animation and documentaries, many of them focused on Canarian themes. The production companies will have until 2027 to finalize their proposals, and may receive payment in advance in installments.

In the Development section, twelve projects are supported among a total of 48 submitted; while in the Short Film Production category, ten have been selected among 37 submitted.

In addition to this, for the second consecutive year, there is support for Minority Co-production, which encourages Canarian production companies to benefit from collaborating with those from outside the islands. In this category, six projects have been selected from a total of 10 submitted.
