The annual CPI rate decreased by 0.5% in November in the Canary Islands to stand at 3.8%, according to data released this Thursday by the National Institute of Statistics (INE).
At the national level, this indicator was 3.2%, a rate three tenths lower than that recorded the previous month.
Among the groups that stand out for their influence on the decrease in the national annual rate are transport, which placed its rate at 0.0%, almost one and a half points below October, because the prices of fuels and lubricants for personal vehicles decreased more than in November 2022.
Followed by leisure and culture, with a rate of 2.5%, almost one and a half points lower than the previous month, since the prices of tourist packages have decreased more than in the same month of last year, and food and non-alcoholic beverages, with a rate of 9%, five tenths lower than the previous month, which is due to the decrease in the prices of bread and cereals and milk, eggs and cheese, compared to the increases of the previous year, and to the fact that meat prices have increased less than in November 2022.
Among the groups with a positive influence is housing, which increases its variation by two points, to –5.7%, a behavior that is mainly due, according to the INE, to the fact that electricity prices are falling less than in November 2022.
Inflation drops half a point in the Canary Islands to 3.8% in November
Despite the decrease in the CPI in the archipelago, the national figure (3.2%) is still slightly below
