Fuel prices continue to reach historic highs in Lanzarote, despite the entry into force of the 20-cent discount, a reduction that still does not fully cover the increase that gasoline has experienced since January.

Refueling the vehicle with 95, 98 or diesel gasoline cost 25 cents more on average in the last week of March than at the beginning of the year, and 45% more than in the same period of 2021, according to data from the Geoportal of the Ministry for Ecological Transition, collected by the Lanzarote Data Center.

Specifically, gasoline 95 was only 1.22 euros during the first week of January, compared to 1.48 euros at the end of March. And if compared to the beginning of last year, the figures drop below one euro, to 0.95 cents.

For its part, gasoline 98 has also seen its price increased by up to 41.5% compared to 2021. In the fourth week of March, the pumps marked an average of 1.56 euros per liter, 26 cents more than in January 2022 and 51 cents more than on the same date last year.

Finally, the cost of diesel has also climbed in recent months, going from 1.15 euros per liter in January to 1.452 in March, that is, 30 cents more in just three months and 53 cents if compared to January 2021.

The cheapest gasoline is in Tías and Yaiza

Despite this gradual increase, finding the most economical gasoline is possible. The cheapest 95 gasoline is found in the SPL of Tías at 1.44 euros per liter, followed by the PCAN of Tías at 1.445 and the A800-02 of Mácher at 1.449 euros.

If the costs of gasoline 98 are taken into account, the most economical establishments are the A800-02 of Mácher, Combustibles Canarios and the Playa Blanca Station at 1.529 euros per liter.

Finally, the cheapest diesel is, once again, in the A800-02 of Mácher, at only 1.428 euros per liter. It is followed by the Marica Rubicón service station in Yaiza and the SPL in Tías with a price of 1.45 euros.

The most expensive fuel is in Yaiza and Arrecife

On the other side of the spectrum is the most expensive gas station on the entire island, E.S. Yaiza, with 95 gasoline at 1.59 euros per liter, 98 gasoline at 1.66 and diesel at 1.58 euros per liter.

Regarding gasoline 95, the second and third place are occupied by Shell Flick and Disa of Arrecife at 1.522 and 1.521 euros per liter, respectively. If you want to refuel with gasoline 98, the Disa of Arrecife and Los Mármoles also have high prices, at 1.6 and 1.59 euros per liter.

Finally, the least economical diesel in Lanzarote is at the Repsol in Yaiza and at the Shell Flick in Arercife at 1.50 euros per liter of fuel.
