The Canary Islands Automobile Federation-FCA has presented at the Maspalomas Circuit the actions it is preparing in the framework of electric mobility, in collaboration with the Ministry of Ecological Transition and Energy, the Canary Islands Energy Offices, the companies CICAR and Moeve, and the associations Fredica and Aconauto.

Specifically, he presented the new "Zero Car" for rallies and other motor events in the Canary Islands, which for the first time will be a vehicle with electric and competition technology, fully prepared with specifications for rallies and all safety measures. Its mission goes beyond the attributions of the conventional "Zero Car," such as warning fans of the start of a timed section or a mountain climb.

Its official name has been rebaptized as "Coche Zero2: zero emissions, zero excuses." Therefore, it can be deduced that this vehicle wants to unite sports motoring with electric mobility, which is now also possible in competitions.

The FCA has highlighted the collaboration of the companies CICAR and Moeve to have this e-competition car and a specific mobile charging point in the Canary Islands.

For Miguel Angel Domínguez, president of the FCA, “the introduction of this electric vehicle in the world of competition in the Canary Islands championships has the objective of raising awareness about the importance of the electrification of the automobile, using the great social platform that supports our sport and demonstrating with the performance of this new “Coche Zero2”, that it can be gradually incorporated into motorsport… For the moment in the safety caravan, but in the future it may become part of our championships.”

For his part, the Minister of Ecological Transition and Energy, Mariano H. Zapata, emphasizes that "the Zero Car symbolizes a new stage, where motoring and sustainability advance together. The decarbonization of the Canary Islands is not only an environmental objective: it is also an economic, social and sporting opportunity."

“Our department manages more than 90 million euros for this purpose, with programs such as Moves III, of which we have already reviewed all the files and granted almost 100%, now entering fully into the payment phase.”

This program of the "Coche Zero2" project will be accompanied by exhibitions, promotional activations, and dissemination. It will be a new step for the introduction of vehicles with alternative energies in motorsports, within a more ambitious program of contributions aimed at environmental care by Canarian motorsports.
