The recovery of the tourism sector, together with the good data during Easter, has led to the César Manrique airport registering its best month of April since 2017 in terms of passenger movement, according to a report from National Airports (AENA) collected by the Lanzarote Data Center.
Specifically, in the fourth month of the year, 645,233 passengers passed through the Lanzarote airport, 559% more than last year and 2.49% more than in 2019, before the pandemic, when 629,145 travelers arrived.
It also manages to improve the March figure, with a figure of 607,643, which reflects the success of this Easter week. It should be noted that such a positive month of April had not been recorded since 2017, when there were 652,286 passengers.
In addition, 5,311 aircraft operations were recorded in April, which represents an interannual improvement of 188.6% and, if compared to 2019, the figure grows this year by 188 operations.
However, the number decreases if the month of March is taken into account, when 5,336 operations occurred, although it is a decrease that usually occurs.
Finally, with regard to the number of goods, these improve their data month by month, but they are still well below the figures recorded before the pandemic.
Specifically, 52,498 kg of goods were transported in April, compared to 50,181 in March and 61.6% more than the same month of 2021. However, it should be noted that in April 2019 the volume was 124,153 kg, that is, 57.72% more.
