The Canary supermarket chain HiperDino acquires 60% of the sweet potatoes available in its stores from Lanzarote suppliers. In total, the leading food chain in the archipelago sells an average of 500,000 kilos of this tuber each year.
Among the ten suppliers with whom the company is currently working is J.C. Viñas S.L. This company, dedicated to the wholesale of fresh fruits and vegetables, maintains a strong link with the countryside of Lanzarote and with agricultural production companies on the island.
In HiperDino establishments you can find sweet potatoes in two varieties, popularly known as red sweet potatoes and yellow sweet potatoes.
HiperDino continues to prioritize the commercialization of products originating in the Canary Islands in support of the archipelago's countryside and the great quantity, variety and quality of existing local products.
The supermarket chain has 239 stores and works with more than 13,000 references, of which 40% correspond to local suppliers.
In addition, it is the leading company in the creation of jobs with more than 9,000 workers. In 2022, the chain generated 2.50% of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of the Canary Islands, and the impact it had on employment represented 3.02% of the employed population of the Archipelago.
Committed to sustainable development, it contemplates three fundamental lines of action: society and Canarian families; commercialization of sustainable products and services, and environmental management and the fight against climate change.
