Companies in the tourism sector of Lanzarote and La Graciosa will soon have a digital maturity and self-diagnosis tool so that they can know their level of digitization, with the aim of initiating a digital transition process in an orderly manner and according to priorities.
The Lanzarote Tourist Federation (FTL) is testing it these days with six companies that carry out different activities in the tourism sector: discretionary transport, diving, restaurants, rural accommodation, active tourism, and vehicle rental.
The president of the Lanzarote Tourist Federation, Susana Pérez, highlighted "the importance of supporting small and medium-sized companies in the change process by providing them with a clear and simple roadmap to start the path to the digital transformation of their businesses as a key element for improving competitiveness."
Pérez detailed that the digital maturity tool, developed in collaboration with the consultant Deloitte, analyzes five dimensions of any business or business activity: Strategy and digital culture; Infrastructure and Technology; Processes; Organization, Communication and Talent, and Customer Experience. "The idea is that with this pilot experience, it is possible to validate not only the tool, but also the methodology and the procedure to be able to extrapolate it to the entire sector," she pointed out.
The project includes a Support Guide for Digital Transformation with which companies and professionals in the sector can increase their opportunities, promoting initiatives for their digital transformation and adapting them to the new market reality. The participating companies have personalized advice with the support of a technician specialized in the matter, who based on their self-diagnosis of digital maturity will carry out and propose to each company a personalized digital transformation plan adapted to their business.
The Innovation service is promoted by the Lanzarote Tourist Federation, aligned with the strategy of TurismoLanzarote, "Lanzarote, Intelligent Destination" and financed by the Cabildo de Lanzarote.
