Bodegas El Grifo and Canarias Wine Academy, a school accredited by the prestigious Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET), announce the launch of their first level 3 course in Wines on the island of Lanzarote, scheduled for early 2025. This is the first time that such advanced wine training will be given on the island, marking a milestone in Lanzarote's educational offering.

After the success of the level 1 and 2 courses taught throughout 2024, the academy, whose headquarters in Lanzarote is Bodegas El Grifo, is preparing to take its students to a more advanced level. This program will allow participants to deepen their knowledge of wine tasting, viticulture, oenology, and the systematic analysis of wine under rigorous standards.

Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET), founded in 1969 in the United Kingdom, is the world's leading organization in training certifications on wines and spirits.

With more than 140,000 annual students in 75 countries, its qualifications are recognized for their high level of demand and standardization, and are aimed at both professionals in the sector and enthusiasts who wish to expand their knowledge. WSET's approach guarantees structured training, from basic to advanced levels, and is designed for students to acquire a high level of knowledge.

A commitment to advanced training in Lanzarote

The WSET Level 3 in Wines course, which will be offered for the first time in Lanzarote, not only represents an advance in the island's training offer, but also responds to the growing demand for advanced qualifications in the local wine sector.

Students will learn to assess the quality of wines in greater depth, as well as identify regional styles and characteristics, skills highly valued both in the industry and by wine lovers.

Ana María Martín DipWSET and Carlos Lozano, from Canarias Wine Academy, highlight the importance of this new educational offer:

"We are very proud to bring WSET level 3 training to the Canary Islands and especially to Lanzarote, which reinforces our commitment to educational excellence in the wine sector. We believe that this is a unique opportunity for both professionals and wine enthusiasts in the Canary Islands to access quality training without having to leave the islands."
