Colegio Arenas Internacional, together with Colegio Arenas-Arenas Atlántico, has participated in the 23rd China International Talent Exchange Conference (CIEP), held in the cities of Shanghai and Changchun, as part of the Canary Islands delegation made up of the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (ULPGC) and Colegio Heidelberg.

The delegation, presided over by the rector of the ULPGC, Lluís Serra, and made up of directors from the aforementioned Canary Islands educational institutions, attended at the invitation of Changchun Normal University, with the purpose of strengthening educational and scientific cooperation between said institutions, in addition to promoting the international projection of the Canary Islands in the academic field.

During the meeting, the active collaboration between the ULPGC and the Changchun Normal University was highlighted through the Confucius Institute of Las Palmas, which since 2013 has promoted the study of the Chinese language and culture, both at the University and in different Primary and Secondary Schools. In this sense, Arenas School was a pioneer in the Canary Islands in incorporating the teaching of Mandarin Chinese and Chinese culture since 2009 (when it was still a Center -not an Institute- Confucius), which it currently teaches to all its students from 2nd grade of Primary to 4th grade of Secondary School.
