The Government of the Canary Islands has regretted that José Luis Escrivá is no longer the Minister of Migration. Likewise, it has highlighted the "sensitivity" and the "steps forward" that he has shown with respect to the rise of the Atlantic Route.

The regional Executive highlights that María Jesús Montero remains in the Treasury for her knowledge of the Economic and Fiscal Regime (REF). This was stated at the press conference after the meeting of the Council of the Government of the Canary Islands by its spokesperson and Deputy Minister of the Presidency, Alfonso Cabello, when offering a "cross-cutting reading" of the appointments that President Pedro Sánchez announced this morning.

"We are glad that some ministers - such as Escrivá, who is moving to Digital Transformation - continue and that others" have ceased to be part of the Council of Ministers, said Cabello, who also welcomed the designation of the Secretary General of the Canarian PSOE as the new head of Territorial Policy and Democratic Memory.

"It is always good to have a Canarian voice" in the Government of Spain, "and even more so in this ministry. We will remain attentive in case more" islanders are incorporated into "intermediate" positions, he said.

In addition to celebrating that they can now count on "non-interim" interlocutors in the central Executive, the President of the Canary Islands has instructed all the ministers of the Government that support CC, PP, ASG and AHI this Monday to contact their respective national counterparts in writing to request a meeting as soon as possible.

Likewise, the ministers of the Canarian Government will send the new ministers informative dossiers of the priority issues of their respective departments.

This is, Cabello said, the matters and objectives that make up the so-called Canarian agenda, the one that CC negotiated with the PSOE when giving its affirmative vote to the investiture of Pedro Sánchez.

The spokesperson for the Canarian Executive, Alfonso Cabello, has described as "very positive" the maintenance of María Jesús Montero at the head of the Ministry of Finance, for the development of the Economic and Fiscal Regime pursued by the government led by Fernando Clavijo.

A development with which the Regional Ministry of Economy, held by Manuel Domínguez (PP), intends to be able to subsidize personal income tax for people who work on the islands, among other issues.

Cabello stressed, however, that the future of the REF "concerns many other areas" of the Government that Pedro Sánchez has formed, beyond the Ministry of Finance, hence the Canarian Executive is awaiting who will occupy certain State Secretariats involved in this issue.
