Telefónica, Vodafone, MasOrange and Digi claim to have already recovered more than 90% of their mobile phone and internet connection services, 22 hours after a blackout occurred throughout the Iberian Peninsula on Monday at 11:30 a.m. (Canarian time).

Telefónica announced this Tuesday that by 9:30 a.m. it had already recovered more than 90% of traffic in both fixed and mobile services, after the massive blackout. In addition, it maintains services identified as essential at all times and rationalizes the use of resources.

The company, which activated its crisis committee this Monday to follow the protocols set in its contingency plan, says it has been working uninterruptedly to gradually recover the service.

Vodafone Spain has announced that it had already recovered 99.5% of mobile traffic, with 92% of active nodes, while MasOrange has more than 90% of fixed and mobile service recovered.

Vodafone broke down the degree of recovery by autonomous communities around 06:00 hours (before the 99.5% figure, which was from 11:00 hours): Galicia is where the recovery was lower, with 50% of mobile traffic restored, followed by Andalusia, with 62%, while Asturias, Basque Country, Navarra, Catalonia, Extremadura or Madrid are above 90%.

For its part, Digi has confirmed that, as of 10:00 a.m., 94% of its fiber service was restored and more than 90% of its mobile service. The operator of Romanian origin has detailed that they continue working to restore normality in the provision of services.

MasOrange, which apologizes and thanks its customers for their patience, has also indicated that it continues working to recover 100% of its services.

For their part, American Tower assures that its 12,000 telecommunications towers were recovering activity as the power supply was being restored and that they are all now operational, while Cellnex also speaks of normalized operations in general terms.

The website Dowdetector, which records incidents reported by users, continues to show a rebound of these on Tuesday, after the day before already showed a significant increase after the power outage that occurred around 12:30 and during the following hours of the afternoon.
