The Government's proposal for the relocation of unaccompanied migrant minors will proceed as designed by the Executive, given the lack of alternatives from the communities presided over by the PP in this Monday's Sectoral Conference, in which they have shown their rejection of the plans proposed.

This was stated by the Minister of Youth and Children, Sira Rego, after presiding over the Sectoral Conference, in which the communities presided over by the PP have shown their rejection of the Government's proposal, although a vote has not been held on it, because, the minister specified, the decree has already been approved by the Executive and validated by the Congress of Deputies.

Despite this rejection, no community has presented a proposal to modify any aspect of the model, such as the distribution criteria, so the mechanism will proceed as approved by the Executive on March 18, in accordance with what is established in the text itself.

"Zero. The PP has brought zero proposals," the minister lamented about this meeting, which in her opinion has focused on blocking, "without contributions of any kind."

Rego has pointed out that, despite the fact that there has been a long debate -the sectoral meeting has lasted for four hours- it has not been possible to debate any important details beyond formal issues, such as the alleged illegality of the sectoral meeting itself, on which the PP communities have insisted.

"The decree law is in force and will be applied," the minister insisted, detailing that her Ministry will issue a formal request to the communities this Tuesday so that in 10 days they update the data on the foreign minors unaccompanied that each one hosts in order to calculate the ordinary capacity of each region.

The communities governed by the PP, led by the Minister of Family, Youth and Social Affairs of the Community of Madrid, Ana Dávila-Ponce de León, have assured at the end of the meeting that they will study how to request that the meeting be declared null and void due to the alleged impediments of the Government to vote on the Executive's relocation proposal.

Asked about these criticisms, Rego explained that "it is not appropriate" to ratify a royal decree law already approved by the Government and validated in the Congress of Deputies in a Sectoral Conference and that in any case there would have been a vote if any community had proposed any modification, which has not happened.

The minister explained that the Government will convene another Children's Sectoral Conference to keep the dialogue space open and the possibility for them to propose any modification in the redistribution criteria, which does not prevent it from continuing with the referral plan as it is at the same time.

In fact, in response to questions from journalists, Rego specified that what happened this Monday "does not alter the deadlines at all" and the Government maintains its estimate that the binding and solidarity reception can begin in the summer.

The Minister of Social Rights and Inclusion of the Generalitat of Catalonia, Mònica Martínez Bravo, has expressed Catalonia's commitment to solidarity and compliance with the royal decree and has reproached the PP for dedicating itself to "making noise" and putting "sticks in the wheels of an agile, automatic and fair distribution."

"The Government of the Generalitat will be on the side of the Canary Islands and is also on the side of the Government of Spain to act with institutional responsibility and also comply with current legislation," she defended.

In response to the PP's accusations that the Government has invented the reception data for Catalonia, she said that "all the data is corroborated" and shows "the previous effort" of the Generalitat "with a greater number of places in reception centers for migrant minors" which makes it the second community that hosts the most in Spain.
