The Canary Islands registered three new positive cases of coronavirus this Thursday, bringing the total to 2,440, according to the data balance updated at 2:00 p.m. by the Ministry of Health of the Regional Government.

In addition, six discharges have occurred in the last 24 hours, reaching 2,218 people who have overcome the disease in the islands.

Currently, 60 cases remain active in Tenerife, Gran Canaria and Fuerteventura, of which 57 are isolated in their homes and three are hospitalized, one of them in the ICU.

The archipelago has now gone 19 consecutive days without registering deaths, which remain at 162.

By islands, and following the item of the declaration of the case, the one with the most accumulated positives is Tenerife, which has 1,606 cases; followed by Gran Canaria with 609 cases; La Palma, 89 cases; Lanzarote, 76 cases; Fuerteventura, 52 cases; La Gomera, 7 cases, and El Hierro, 1 case.

The coronavirus affects women more than men, with 1,318 and 1,122 cases, respectively, and especially affects the age group between 40 and 49 years, with 429 cases.
