The Doctor Negrín University Hospital of Gran Canaria has detected an outbreak of coronavirus in the Internal Medicine ward that currently affects four patients and two workers.

According to sources from the hospital complex speaking to Europa Press, since the first cases were detected, "the pertinent measures were immediately taken" in these cases, such as restricting visits, not admitting patients to the ward, carrying out screening, and intensifying disinfection and cleaning work.

As for the patients who have tested positive, they have been transferred to the ward where people with coronavirus are treated in the Hospital, which continues to work "with complete normality."

Finally, the hospital is investigating to clarify what could have been the origin of this outbreak.
