About 30,617 workers have left a Temporary Employment Regulation File (ERTE) in the Canary Islands during the last month, going from 114,117 as of July 31 to 83,500 as of August 31.

In Spain as a whole, according to the Ministry's figures, three out of four people have left an ERTE since May began. The number of people included in one at the end of August was 812,438 people, which represents a reduction of 306,104 workers compared to the previous month.

In relative terms, the number of people included in ERTE in the country has been reduced by 27.36% compared to July 31 and 76% compared to the maximum, recorded on April 30.

Of the total number of affiliates at the end of August, 812,438 people were still in ERTE. Of these, 663,656 were in a situation of ERTE due to force majeure (-23.83% compared to July). In addition, of the total, 165,598 had a partial suspension, which is just over 20% of the total number of workers included in temporary employment files.

For their part, the number of people included in ERTE not due to force majeure amounted to 148,782 as of August 31, with a decrease of 37,151 people (-19.98% compared to July).

At the end of August, the sectors where there are more affiliates in an ERTE are Food and beverage services (149,908 affected), Accommodation services (104,102) and Retail trade, except for motor vehicles and motorcycles (61,771).

Geographically, the reduction of workers in ERTE has been "heterogeneous" in the eighth month of the year. Thus, the number of employed in these files has been significantly reduced in Cantabria (-41.28%) and Castilla y León, where it has been reduced by 37.85%.

More than 70% of the workers who were in ERTE in April, the highest point of suspended workers, had already left it as of August 31 in Cantabria, Castilla-La Mancha, Castilla y León, Extremadura, Galicia, Murcia, Navarra and La Rioja.
