A reader has contacted La Voz to denounce the "plague of pigeons" that exists in Arrecife, specifically on Valls de la Torre street. The enormous amount of these birds means that their droppings are in every corner of the facade of the buildings.
This accumulation of feces translates into a source of infections of Cryptococcosis, Histoplasmosis and Psittacosis that people can contract if they breathe the dust from the feces when they dry.
As can be seen in the images, the pigeon droppings are next to the air conditioning units, on the awnings and also on the street itself, which, in addition to being unsanitary, makes the buildings look dirty and neglected.
The neighbors ask the City Council to solve this problem in some way to put an end to the droppings on their windows and facades.
