A reader of La Voz (in his name and that of the neighbors) denounces the "annoyances" caused by the works that are being carried out in Coronel Bens street and its surroundings, in the center of Arrecife. Some arrangements on the roads that began last Monday and Tuesday, and that they wish will not be extended any longer. "Let's hope the torture doesn't continue", they comment.
"They are works without any type of control", explains the man. A situation that has caught them by surprise, "we have not been informed by any means of its realization and we have not been able to be prepared", he adds.
In addition, some maintenance that hinders the circulation of the street forming a "chaos": "Nothing is signposted, there is no one to regulate traffic and we must cross entire streets in vehicles in the wrong direction", he adds. Something that supposes a "risk of danger due to being run over, shock or confusion due to going in the opposite direction", reveals the neighbor. Also a very annoying situation for pedestrians, who must "go around, jump or do mountaineering" to avoid the machines.
They are very angry with the hours in which the workers work. They do it between "nine at night and four in the morning", causing an "unbearable noise and rattling", making the "delights" of the neighbors. He acknowledges that "more than one has had their furniture moved" in their homes.
They argue that some establishments on the street have had to "close" due to the discomfort generated and "not being able to offer a good service" to customers, as is the case of the Mexican restaurant La Lupe.
In addition, they focus their complaints not only on the city council, but also on the staff of the Local Police, who do not "offer them a solution". "We have gone to file a complaint and they have told us to come back another day, that we have to make an appointment", he says. They criticize that "always" they receive the "same answer": "the patrol car is on duty and will come as soon as it can", when they call to expose the situation.
