The Socialist Party (PSOE) in Arrecife has "forcefully denounced the complicit silence and support of Echedey for the illegalities that are occurring in the capital's city council". The socialists regret that, "given the seriousness of the recent events of the mayor's brother's hiring, Coalición Canaria and Echedey are choosing to look the other way instead of defending transparency and the general interest of the citizens".

From the socialist ranks, it is emphasized that "the situation orchestrated by Ángel Vázquez and his son in the insular sphere shares evident parallels with what happened in the Arrecife City Council; however, the mayor's case is of much greater seriousness, as he did not hesitate to remove the councilor from the corresponding area to directly assume the signing of the hiring files".

"This action is clearly illegal: there is a report prepared by the City Council's own secretary —requested at the request of the mayor himself— whose conclusions are devastating. A legal document that dismisses the arguments of the government team and highlights the breach of the minimum legal guarantees required of a public administration," they add from the party.

Faced with this scenario, the PSOE considers that "it is a real shame that Echedey and Coalición Canaria have become the Popular Party's doormat in Arrecife, whitewashing and cleaning up the shame of their government partners and relatives instead of defending the interests of the municipality's residents".
