The Arrecife Protection Center rescued this Monday a lost dog while wandering the streets of the capital of Lanzarote. The animal was wandering aimlessly at night in Tanganillo Street, when some citizens met the animal, have reported the agents of the Local Police.

After locating it, they were the ones who notified the Local Police and then, the agents activated the collection notice of the shelter. The dog "had no identification since it was without a chip" and the center provided him with, "food and we took care of him until we located his owners", said the head of the shelter, Ancor Marrero.

This Tuesday, the shelter has confirmed to La Voz that the animal's owners have "picked up the dog to take him back home." The owners, alarmed when they realized that the animal had disappeared, went to the shelter to locate it.

In addition, from the center, they emphasize that they are "overwhelmed and collapsed" and "encourage the population to adopt responsibly" on such important dates as Christmas. "In the center we lack cages and means to accommodate the animals", revealed the manager. He recalled that "we have a very large workload for months".

The Arrecife Protection Center has two adoption pages and a profile on social networks such as Facebook and Instagram, where you can check the animals that are in adoption and also, those that are lost throughout Arrecife.
