“It's okay, grandma, I'm not going to take off my mask because I want to play with my friends”

The video of two women in a shopping center on the island rebuking security guards because they asked one of them to put on the mask correctly has generated many reactions of indignation. One of them has been transferred to La Voz by a woman who wanted to contrast the attitude of these two women with that of her three-year-old grandson.

According to her, after the island entered level 4 of alert, the child's teacher sent a circular to the parents informing them that the students could only remove the mask to eat. “Not in the playground or to play, that is, all day with the mask”, says this woman, who affirms that when she heard the news she became “hysterical” thinking about how it would affect her grandson.

However, when talking to him, she was surprised by his response, which is what she wanted to share. “It's okay, grandma, I'm not going to take it off. I want to play with my friends and tomorrow is Peace Day and in the wishing tree I'm going to ask to kill the bug so that all people kiss”, she says that the three-year-old told her.

“Learn from the children, who seem to suffer more than the adults, and put on your mask, which I don't think will cost you so much”, she adds to this woman addressing the protagonist of the video. “Look around you. Look how children wear it because they want to be happy and go to the park, celebrate their birthdays, hug their friends... Be aware that there are people who want to live”, she demands, also questioning that this woman not only broke the rules, but that both she and her companion “disrespected the security guard who was doing his job”.
