Social networks have criticized that a professional photographer has taken portraits of a couple on the badlands of Timanfaya, a protected area that cannot be accessed on foot.
"And this gentleman comes and puts a couple in the badlands at the entrance of Timanfaya. How cool! He uploads it to social media and nothing happens," highlighted an Instagram user, upon seeing the video of this photographer. In addition, he has cited different institutions of the island, such as the Environment Area of the Cabildo, hoping for a response.
The Timanfaya National Park is the main natural wonder of the island and, in addition to being protected under the umbrella of its classification as a national park, it is included within the Canary Islands Network of Protected Natural Spaces and classified as an area of ecological sensitivity. Furthermore, it is part of the Biosphere Reserve that includes the entire island.
The Government of the Canary Islands informs through its website that "it is not allowed to leave the path, since this entire area is declared a Reserve area due to its fragility and ecological importance."
