Videos of tourists breaking into protected areas of the Canary Islands to get a social media post or pass the time are becoming more and more common. This time it has been the Timanfaya National Park, known for its tonalities and the silhouettes of its volcanoes, which has been the protagonist of these acts of vandalism.

In one of the traditional visits to the park, in the middle of the natural space two people decided to get out of the private vehicle with which they access the Tourist Center of the Mountains of Fire.

Thus, in the queue to enter the beginning of the bus tour they abandoned the signposted route and climbed one of the slopes of a volcano.

As can be seen in the videos disseminated by a person who wants to denounce the facts, in the middle of the lava mantle these two young people began to ascend the slope, while taking rofe from the ground.

Timanfaya National Park is the second most visited in the Canary Islands, after the Teide National Park in Tenerife and the third in the country.

The Government of the Canary Islands reports that "it is not allowed to leave the path, since this entire area is declared a Reserve area due to its fragility and ecological importance." However, there are guided routes to visit the Park respecting biodiversity and the environment.
