Great handball weekend that was experienced in a new edition of the 24 Hours Handball Tournament, a tournament that began early on Saturday and lasted until after two in the afternoon on Sunday. 84 registered teams, 82 matches played and more than 1,230 minutes of good handball, are the numbers of a tournament that continues to have the support of handball in particular and sports in general. The stands of the Lanzarote Sports City were packed on Saturday night, enjoying each of the matches in the senior category.

Club Balonmano San José Obrero once again fulfilled the celebration of the forty-second edition of the 24 Hours Handball Tournament. A very complicated tournament to organize due to the number of participating teams and the number of hours of duration of the same. In addition, during Saturday afternoon four matches were played simultaneously, with the matches being played in the pavilions of the Sports City, Blas Cabrera and Titerroy. and on the outdoor courts of the Lanzarote Sports City.

The XLII 24 Hours Handball Tournament started at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, where the youngest were the protagonists and where a new concentration of the Benjamin and Alevín handball categories took place. After 1:00 p.m., diplomas were awarded to the youngest, who enjoyed a morning full of handball.

At 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, the matches of the children's, cadet and youth categories of the XLII 24 Hours Handball Tournament were launched and gave way to the senior category on Saturday night. At 11:00 p.m., the last match of the night was played at the Blas Cabrera Felipe facilities and the entire competition was concentrated in the Lanzarote Sports City. A success on the part of the organization, filling the stands with players, fans and family members, who gave a great color to the tournament during the early hours of the morning.

Pablo Martín's family was honored at this event, also with the presence of Andrés Martín, a national category referee who was in charge of directing the tribute match.

On Sunday morning the finals of each of the categories were played. In the women's final, "Pub La Pua" defeated "Se Sabe" and in the men's category the victory went to "Watermelo" against "Los Azuquitas". María Bermúdez and Juan José Montoya were chosen as the best goalkeepers of the tournament and the best players were Emma Sánchez and Agustín Castellano. In addition, David Robayna received a distinction for his work in favor of handball.

Men's Cadet: Hospiten Kameni's (champion) and Hospiten Traumatología (runner-up)
Women's Youth: Piñita San José (champion) and Se Sabe (runner-up)
Men's Youth: Balonmano Perdoma (champion) and No tú que si (runner-up)
Women's Senior: Pub La Pua (champion) and Se Sabe (runner-up)
Men's Senior: Watermelo (champion) and Los Azuquitas (runner-up)
