Quintero shot from the edge of the area, Ruymán could not block and Quintero would shoot the rebound again, with the Yaiza goalkeeper stopping low.
On the counterattack, Unión Sur Yaiza could have scored the second goal in the 59th minute. A perfect pass from Alex Cruz from the right wing was controlled by Alex Yunes inside the area, and his low shot with the toe was saved by Agoney. UD Lanzarote's response would come a minute later, with a header from Quintero at the far post that went slightly over the crossbar.
The visitors claimed a possible penalty in the 69th minute of the match. Alex Cruz entered the area on the right wing, won the end line and his cross hit Acai's hand as he lunged to prevent the pass. The action was not punished as a penalty. Just four minutes later, Raúl headed a corner kick from the locals and the ball went high.
UD Lanzarote's control was accentuated as the end of the match approached. In addition, the players of both teams were loaded with yellow cards, up to 14 cards were shown by the referee Kevin Jiménez Velázquez, many of them in the first half for protesting.
