Two of the teams fighting for one of the four places that give the right to play in the promotion phase faced each other on Saturday afternoon at the Municipal de Yaiza. Unión Sur Yaiza and Villa de Santa Brígida drew 1-1, a result that leaves the standings as they were before the start of the match, with Unión Sur Yaiza occupying the fourth place in the standings. The goals of the match came in the final stretch of each half. Villa de Santa Brígida took the lead through Pablo Álvarez, and Aridane equalized, rescuing a point for the home team.
Both teams started the match well positioned on the field, alternating dominance. The pressure was intense in the center of the field, with the players in that area working to prevent the opponent from feeling comfortable on the field. Neither team was able to create good attacking plays, and goalkeepers Ruymán and Fermín went unnoticed in this phase of the match.
Villa de Santa Brígida would begin to gain a slight dominance of the match, helped by having the wind in their favor in this first part of the match. On the edge of the half-hour mark, the team from Gran Canaria created the first dangerous action of the match and almost took the lead. A corner kick executed by David Figueroa became poisonous, and the ball went close to the crossbar of the goal defended by Ruymán.
The visiting team would take the lead on the verge of halftime. An indecision by the Unión Sur Yaiza defense was taken advantage of by Pablo Álvarez to send the ball into the back of the net with a toe poke. With the score at 0-1, the first half of the match came to an end.
Little changed in the second half, marked by an even game and slightly dominated by Unión Sur Yaiza, who sought the equalizer by moving the lines of the field forward. Villa de Santa Brígida waited for Yaiza in their own half, trying to find the speed of Pablo Álvarez and Julio to pose a dangerous threat in the area defended by Ruymán.
Unión Sur Yaiza would rescue a point when there were barely four minutes left in regular time. Vladimir was in charge of executing a free kick in the vicinity of the area, and Aridane, with an accurate header, sent the ball into the back of the net. Goalkeeper Fermín was caught in no man's land, facilitating the finish of the Yaiza defender to establish the tie on the scoreboard.
There was no time for more, and with the score tied at one goal, the match came to an end. A draw that leaves the standings as they were at the start of the day, with Unión Sur Yaiza maintaining fourth place and having the same number of points ahead of the teams trying to snatch that privileged position.
