Unión Sur Yaiza falls out of the play-off positions after losing to Arucas CF (1-0)

Arucas CF achieved their fifth consecutive victory on Saturday afternoon at the expense of a Unión Sur Yaiza that has entered a negative dynamic in recent matchdays. Carlos Ramírez's pupils were inoperative throughout the match, unable to react to the goal conceded at the beginning of the second half. Most of Yaiza's attacking actions in the match were distant shots from the edge of the area that did not endanger the Arucas goalkeeper.

The first half of the match was marked by alternating dominance, with most of the game taking place in the center of the field and with practically no dangerous chances. The first dangerous approach was made by Unión Sur Yaiza in the 16th minute, with a shot from the edge of the area by Rubén Rodríguez that went over the Arucas goal's crossbar.

Minutes passed and there was little to tell about the pitch. Arucas CF barely approached with danger in this first half of the match, unable to shoot between the three posts in the first 45 minutes. Yaiza tried, although always with distant shots that did not disturb the goal defended by Oliver. In the 25th minute, the visitor Robert tried, his shot going over the crossbar. The first half of the match concluded with a goalless draw.

Arucas CF would take the lead in the 2nd minute of the second half in an unfortunate play for the Yaiza defense. A cross from Raúl Rodríguez touched a defender and goalkeeper Doramas, the ball was loose inside the area, a circumstance that Ayoze Ramírez took advantage of to make it 1-0.

The conceded goal did not make Unión Sur Yaiza react and was practically absent throughout the second half. Arucas had chances to increase the differences on the scoreboard and achieve a more comfortable result. In the 62nd minute, Chicha tried with a shot from forty meters that went just wide. And three minutes later, Ayoze Ramírez finished against the crossbar.

Unión Sur Yaiza was inoperative in attack, unable to generate dangerous chances, and most of the attacking actions were distant shots that did not endanger goalkeeper Oliver. With the score of 1-0, the match concluded, with Yaiza leaving three golden points in Gran Canaria.

The victories of Real Sporting San José against Santa Úrsula (2-0) and Villa de Santa Brígida against Estrella (1-0) cause Unión Sur Yaiza to lose the fourth place that it has held for so many matchdays. The southerners are going through a negative streak in the last few matchdays, achieving one point out of the last nine that have been put into play.
