Insufficient draw achieved by UD Lanzarote on Sunday midday in their match against CD El Cotillo, a result that diminishes the chances of the locals to fight for the fourth place in the standings of the Third Division. Throughout the entire match, UD Lanzarote did not have clear ideas in terms of game development, encountering a CD El Cotillo well positioned on the field.

Alternating dominance was recorded during the first half of the match, without the match having a clear dominator throughout the 45 minutes of play. It was UD Lanzarote who starred in the first dangerous occasion in the 6th minute. A good cross from Borja Vera from the left wing was headed by Rosmen and the ball did not find the three posts.

We had to wait until the 22nd minute of the first half to see the next chance for the locals. A corner kick finished by Fran Gil at the far post, which ended up crashing into the outside of the post. The response from CD El Cotillo came in the 29th minute, with a shot from Héctor from inside the area that went over the three posts.

The game of CD El Cotillo grew as the minutes passed, while UD Lanzarote got bogged down in the creation game. The locals had to make a change in the 37th minute, with Pele retiring injured and Toñito entering in his place. A change that forced the local coach to reorganize the team, placing Javi Betancort in the center of defense.

Precisely Toñito starred in a good chance as soon as he jumped onto the field. His shot from the edge of the area was cleared under the posts by a defender. And in the final stretch of the first half, CD El Cotillo had two good chances. In the 40th minute, Aarón stole a ball inside the area and his shot went over the crossbar. The second action occurred in the 44th minute, with a header from Pablo at the far post that went high by very little.

The game was thicker in the second half of the match, a period in which it was a wanting and not being able by UD Lanzarote. The locals created their first dangerous action of the second half in the 51st minute, with a shot from Rosmen from inside the area that ended up crashing into the crossbar of the goal defended by Agoney.

The push of UD Lanzarote faded as the minutes passed. CD El Cotillo defended with order, not leaving fissures in its defensive line and even went on the attack based on quick counterattacks. The Majoreros had their best option in the 85th minute. They chipped the ball over the barrier in a free kick on the edge of the area, Iván controlled inside the area and Alejandro sent the shot to a corner kick.

In added time, UD Lanzarote had two good chances from set pieces. In the 91st minute, Borja Vera executed a free kick that Javi Betancort headed high. And in the 94th minute, a new free kick executed by Borja and this time it was the goalkeeper Agoney who cleared the danger with his fists.

Goalless draw between UD Lanzarote and CD El Cotillo, a result that diminishes the chances of the locals to fight for the fourth place in the standings and staying in no man's land. For its part, CD El Cotillo adds an important point to continue approaching the goal of permanence.
