UD Lanzarote does not renounce the possibility of fighting for the positions that would give them the right to play the promotion phase, adding an important victory against CD Vera on Sunday morning. It was the Tenerife team that took the lead on the scoreboard through Cachi. In the middle of a downpour, UD Lanzarote turned the result around with goals from Javi Betancort and Quintero. The sentence came in the final stretch of the match with Rosmen's goal.
The match did not have a clear dominator in the first minutes, with the game developing in the wide area of the field. CD Vera approached with danger in a set piece, and in one of those actions the Tenerife team took the lead. In the 11th minute, a corner kick to the left of the goal defended by Agoney and it was Cachi who finished unmarked inside the area.
UD Lanzarote reacted and turned the score around when a downpour fell on the Lanzarote Sports City. In the 21st minute, Borja Vera executed a free kick from the right side, the ball hit the post of the goal defended by Borja and Javi Betancor sent the rebound into the goal.
Just four minutes later, it was Miñano who entered the right wing to put a precise pass for Quintero to send it into the back of the net. In the middle of the downpour, the rojillos managed to turn the score around.
The forces were evened on the field in the minutes remaining until the end of the first half. It was UD Lanzarote who controlled the situation and tried to get dangerously close to the CD Vera goal. The Tenerife team had problems getting out with the ball under control. With the score of 2-1, the first part came to an end.
The second half began with two good chances for UD Lanzarote. The first with a change of direction from Raúl from the right wing to the left, with Borja Vera entering the area and the Vera goalkeeper sending it to a corner kick. Minutes later, it was Quintero who appeared alone inside the area and sent the ball over the crossbar.
In the middle of both occasions, CD Vera also enjoyed their opportunity to level the score. Yoni started at speed from the center of the field, put the ball for the arrival of Víctor on the right side, he enters the area and his shot is lost over the crossbar of the goal defended by Agoney.
UD Lanzarote did not finish closing the match and CD Vera grew with the passing of the minutes. The Tenerife team approached dangerously to the vicinity of the area and gave the sensation that in any of the actions could endanger the meager advantage of the locals. In the 78th minute, Marcos Cabrera executed a free kick from the left side and Javi Betancort, unmarked, headed over the crossbar. And two minutes later, Romen headed a cross from Borja and the goalkeeper stopped it on the same goal line.
The tranquility for the locals came with three minutes remaining for the end of the match, when UD Lanzarote managed to increase the differences. A good cross from the left wing was headed by Rosmen, and the striker's header was lodged in the back of the net of the goal defended by Borja.
Three vital points were achieved by UD Lanzarote to continue in the fight for the play-off positions, placing themselves in the sixth position of the classification. In the next match, the rojillos travel to Tenerife to face CD Marino, a team that has the same amount of points as UD Lanzarote.
