UD Lanzarote could not end on Saturday morning the condition of undefeated as local of Arucas CF, and fell defeated by 2 to 1 in their visit to Antonio Afonso “Tonono”. It was the "rojillo" team that took the lead on the scoreboard through Ayoze, and the Aruquenses turned it around with goals from David García and Chiqui.
UD Lanzarote suffered some setbacks in the last session of the week. Striker Rubo, the team's top scorer, was injured in Friday's training session. Brazilian Rodrigo was also unavailable and the U23 Bily suffered a severe ankle sprain in Friday's match for the reserve team.
The first part of the match was dominated by the home side, with Arucas CF visiting the area defended by Alejandro more frequently, although UD Lanzarote enjoyed good scoring chances. The first warning was given by the Aruquense team, with a cross from Futre that was headed by Santi unmarked and the ball would go over the top of the goal.
Nauzet Alemán tried it just five minutes later with a shot from the edge of the area, with Alejandro responding well under the posts. UD Lanzarote's response would come in the 14th minute, with a shot from Leo from the edge of the area that would go wide.
UD Lanzarote took the lead on the scoreboard in the 20th minute of the first half, after completing a quick counterattack. Alyson gave way on the edge of the area for Ayoze Pérez and the "rojillo" captain with a placed shot surpassed the stretch of goalkeeper Toba.
The goal left Arucas CF disconcerted and the visitors had a similar action to increase the differences, going wide on this occasion. Despite this, the local team would achieve the equalizer in the 35th minute in a set-piece action. A corner kick was finished off by David García unmarked at the far post, and the ball after touching a defender went into the back of the net.
The first half ended with a clear chance for UD Lanzarote. A shot from Alyson was deflected by Juanito and goalkeeper Toba responded to prevent the second goal for the "rojillos". With the score tied at one goal, the first 45 minutes of the match came to an end.
The second half began with alternating dominance, with no clear dominator of the match on the pitch of Antonio Afonso “Tonono”. UD Lanzarote had two great chances to get back in front on the scoreboard. Ayoze Pérez sent a ball to the crossbar and minutes later, Miguel Gopar culminated a counterattack with a shot that went to the side of the net.
Arucas CF did not forgive and achieved the winning goal in the 81st minute of the match. A cross from Juan Carlos was received by Chiqui on the edge of the area and the Aruquense player surpassed Alejandro to make the second goal for his team.
Hardly anything happened in the final minutes of the match and with the score of 2 to 1 the match came to an end, with UD Lanzarote adding a new defeat. The "rojillos" will face UD Las Zocas next Sunday, November 21 at the Ciudad Deportiva Lanzarote.
