UD Lanzarote traveled to Fuerteventura on Saturday to play the match of the fifth round of the Third Division, a match postponed in its day due to the breakdown suffered by the boat that had to move the Lanzarote team. The "rojillo" team lost by the minimum against UD Gran Tarajal, a result that continues to complicate the qualifying situation of the team led by Josu Uribe.
The game was quite messy during the first half, with few chances generated by both teams. On the edge of halftime, the referee whistled a penalty in favor of Gran Tarajal for a handball by a UD Lanzarote defender. Héctor Figueroa was met by the good intervention of goalkeeper Alejandro, who stopped the shot.
The panorama of the match did not change in the second half, although the dominance of the locals increased as the minutes passed. With five minutes remaining, the referee signaled a disputed action inside the area as a penalty, which cost Rodrigo a red card. Héctor Figueroa did not fail on this second occasion and scored the goal that gave Gran Tarajal the victory.
Minimal defeat for UD Lanzarote against Gran Tarajal, a result that leaves the "rojillo" team in the last place in the classification of the Las Palmas group of the Third Division. The competition will resume on January 9, when UD Lanzarote will visit UD Las Palmas "C" in the Annex of the Gran Canaria Stadium.
