UD Lanzarote conceded another draw at the Ciudad Deportiva Lanzarote, drawing 0-0 against CD Marino, a team that arrived as leader of the Third Division. The Rojillos dominated the match and had the best chances, facing a Marino that dedicated itself to preserving the draw. Javi Melián, Miguel Gómez, Ayoze and Raúl had the best chances to tip the result in favor of the locals.
The first part of the match had a lot of rhythm, with intense play that both teams tried to develop. UD Lanzarote took control of the match, facing a CD Marino that pressed the locals' ball exit and did not hesitate to counterattack. Marcos Cabrera gave the first warning with a shot from the edge of the area that went wide of the three posts.
UD Lanzarote had an unbeatable chance in the 21st minute. After a throw-in, Jorge Pulido headed the ball at the near post, Javi Melián finished with a backheel and Marko Cicovic responded with a good intervention to send the shot to a corner. Just four minutes later, Miguel Gómez finished off a cross at the far post and the shot went all the way across the goal line before going out for a goal kick.
The intensity of the game began to decrease as the minutes passed. UD Lanzarote sometimes overused long passes, having to fight Javi Melián, Borja Vera and Toñito with the visiting defenders. With the score tied at zero, the first half of the match came to an end.
The second half would begin with a good chance for UD Lanzarote. Toñito entered the area on the right wing, took out a cross that Javi Melián headed in at the mouth of the goal, with Cicovic preventing the locals' goal. The play would continue with several rebounds inside the area, with Borja Vera finishing over the body of a defender.
The second period was a monologue by UD Lanzarote, being the only team that had the ball in their possession and the one that tried to tip the score. CD Marino dedicated itself to preserving the draw and barely approached Alejandro's domains with danger. Jeremy, a player recently incorporated into the Rojillo team, reinforced the attack in the second half.
The best chances for UD Lanzarote to achieve victory came in the minutes of added time. Ayoze Pérez tried with a shot from the edge of the area, the ball going out for a corner. In the corner kick, Raúl headed in at the far post, hitting the ball on the crossbar of the goal.
The score did not move and with the score tied at zero the match came to an end. A result that allows CD Marino to retain the lead of the Third Division together with CD El Cotillo. UD Lanzarote adds the fourth draw of the season, staying in the middle of the table, although only three points from the play-off positions.
