During the past month of September, the 'V Canary Islands Open Water Swimming Cup' ended in El Hierro with seven podiums for the 'Real Club Náutico de Arrecife', which was team champion in the master category. In the same category, Rosa Retana Schwartz won gold in M60 and Erasmita Perdomo in M40. Juana Teresa Machín won silver in M55, Araceli Tabares in M50 and Sandra Nieves in 45, and Carlos Sáenz won bronze in M50.
The good results came after our athletes participated in a good number of the Canary Islands crossings. The most regular swimmers representing the Real Club Náutico de Arrecife were: Alejandro Velázquez Rodríguez, Álvaro García Milla, Carlos Sáenz Toledo, Erasmita Perdomo Fernández, Fernando Benítez González, Juana Teresa Machín Morales, Araceli Tabares Alberti, Rosa Retana Schwartz, Sara Dolores Perera Hernández, Sandra Nieves Medina, Sergio Rivera Medina and Patricio Aldecoa Sendagorta.
