The Canary Islands Championship - CCRA ends one more year on the island of Lanzarote with the Orvecame Rally, which is now in its 45th edition. Last event also of the BP Championship of Las Palmas and the Insular of Lanzarote, which will be held in two days, on November 22 and 23.
The route book of eight timed sections brings some novelties and will start on Friday night with the first three specials, starting at 9 p.m. On Saturday it resumes from nine in the morning to contest another five sections, concluding everything at four in the afternoon and the subsequent awards ceremony.
Arrecife will be the headquarters of the rally for another year, with departures, assistance area, closed parks and final finish. This year the assistance area will be in the lot attached to the Open Mall shopping center in Arrecife and very close in the Rambla Medular will be the presentation of the teams at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, in addition to the awards ceremony on Saturday at 4:30 p.m. Both the previous verifications of the cars and the closed park will be in the parking lot of the Municipal Soccer Field, also next to the Rambla Medular.
On Thursday the Teguise Test Day will be held, on the "Guatiza-El Mojón" section, from 3 to 6 p.m., for all teams registered in the rally and who request to test their vehicles.
The "king" section of the Orvecame will be the one that starts the race on Friday night: "Tabayesco-Haría-Las Nieves-Los Valles-El Mojón", in its longest version with 19.41 km of distance. It will be held twice at 9:50 p.m. and 11:50 p.m., combined with a single pass to the "Arrieta-Haría-Máguez" section, of 8.39 km at 10:50 p.m., with many years without being contested.
On Saturday the "La Santa Sport-El Cuchillo" section will be held three times, with 8.39 km, with times of 10:30, 13:30 and 15:10 hours, combined with the TC "San Bartolomé-La Candelaria", of 7.48 km and that will be disputed at 11:10 and 14:10 hours. The last section will be the TC Plus, which corresponds to "La Santa Sport-El Cuchillo".
The route book has a total of 296 km of which 87.34 correspond to the eight sections (four different), which makes almost 30% of the route.
Last year the victory was taken sharply by Yeray Lemes-Aitor Cambeiro with Citroen C3 Rally, while Miguel Suárez and Eduardo González celebrated in Lanzarote the achievement of the regional title CCRA
The organization of the CD. Evesport has the support of the Cabildo de Lanzarote, City Council of Arrecife and the city councils through which the rally passes, such as Haría, Teguise, Tinajo, San Bartolomé and Tías.
