Three teams from Lanzarote will participate in the twelfth edition of the Panda Raid, an adventure rally with more than 3,000 kilometers of route that will start in Nador (Morocco) this Sunday and end in Marrakech and will have almost 400 participants, among which the presence of 14 teams from the Canary Islands stands out

The Lanzarote natives Luis Ferrer and Pedro Padrón will repeat the experience in the Panda Raid 2020 adventure with their Fiat Panda 4x4 after participating in last year's edition and enjoying the experience. The team was received by the Councilor for Tourism of the Arrecife City Council, Armando Santana, and by the Mayor of Teguise, Eugenio Robayna, who wished them luck in the adventure.

The Panda Raid is a long-distance and endurance rally that is held every year around this time in Morocco, with a participation of almost 400 vehicles, all Pandas from all over the world. The teams will test all physical and mental capacities in a route in which they will have to use the 'road book' and the compass to face the navigation through the tracks and the desert in seven stages starting in Nador, in a route from the north, east and west to finish in the south crossing the Col de Tichka, at 2,260 meters, before reaching Marrakech.

For this edition, the preparation of the Fiat Panda 4x4 has been improved after last year's experience. Specifically, improvements have been made to the suspension and the car has been raised more with more reinforced springs, in addition to reducing its weight

The team of Luis Ferrer and Pedro Padrón carries the number 370 of a total of almost 400 cars, with the first objective of starting and finishing the test as well as possible, under the harshness that it entails and the coexistence with the people, and as representatives of Lanzarote leave a mark worldwide.

In addition, two more teams from Lanzarote have also been encouraged to join the adventure: with the number 373 and a Fiat Panda 4x2, Nicolás Guerrero and Samuel Hortigüela will participate, and with the number 369 and a Fiat Panda 4x4, Leonardo Cedrés Ferrer and Evangelina Suárez Bonilla will do so.
