The karateka Javier Plaza, from the 'Club Suhari Karate', has won the Bronze medal in the 'National Karate League Championship' in the senior category with more than 84 kg. On September 22, 23 and 24, the cadet and senior team traveled to Asturias to compete in the second phase of the 'National Karate League' with a team of nine competitors and two technicians.
The competition took place in the facilities of the Palacio de los Deportes de la Guía de Gijón, in two marathon days of very high quality by all participants. The mayor of Tías, José Juan Cruz Saavedra, and the Councilor for Sports, Sergio García González, have congratulated the young karateka, his club, managers and technicians for this new sporting triumph for Tías and Lanzarote.
The following karatekas were participating in the championship: Jimena Padilla in less than 54kg, Guillermo Ramírez in less than 52kg, Mikel González in less than 57kg, Aimar Cabrera in less than 63kg, Kain Monje and Manuel Pérez in less than 70kg, both participated in the Cadet category. And Noemi Mesa in more than 68kg, Harry Stewart in less than 84kg and the Lanzarote native Javier Plaza in more than 84kg.
