The island Fleet of the J80 Class meets this Sunday in waters near Playa Grande in Puerto del Carmen, competing for the CajaCanarias - Casa Rosa Restaurant Trophy with almost 30 boats on the starting line.

Three regattas will be held, weather permitting, and for those fans who wish to watch them, there will be a boat in the new area of Puerto Calero, which will set sail at 10:15 am on Sunday.

The Lanzarote crews will try to achieve the first triumph of the season within the Island Championship, in the two previous events, it was Gustavo Martínez from Gran Canaria who took the victory.

After the celebration of the third trophy of the calendar, the next event will be on May 13 and 14 in the waters of Arrecife, the Casino Club Náutico de Arrecife Trophy will be held. This will be the first time that a trophy of the new J80 Class will be held in the capital's waters.

The competition to be held tomorrow was presented last Thursday at the Casino Club Náutico de Arrecife, by the secretary of the Class, Leonardo "Nete" Armas Lasso, who was accompanied by Javier Hidalgo, representing CajaCanarias, and Jimi Lunday, from the Casa Rosa Restaurant.

Once the tests are finished, and around 4:00 pm on Sunday, the awards ceremony will take place at the Casa Rosa Restaurant.
