This weekend, Magec Tías "Against Gender Violence" had to visit the court of the category leader, Tirso Incentro, a club that is already qualified to play the final phase, but that does not want to lose the possibility of being the first at the conclusion of this first part of the season.

After a fairly even start, with various advantages on the scoreboard for one team and the other, the clash was tilting towards the island team, which was much more regular than the Cantabrian team, managing to go from two points behind at the end of the first quarter, to the 4 that there were at halftime.

The Lanzarote team was much more successful in the inside game and in free throw shots than in the last game. Also in the three-point shots, where Dami Adeyinka, Iranzu Drake and Carolina Mateo managed to score. The entry into the game of one more rotation and the return of Leonor Serralheiro after two weeks out of the courts due to health problems, helped the Lanzarote team to be much stronger and more stable in all factors.

Upon returning to the court, after the 32 to 36 of the break, the Cantabrians came out with more bite and the islanders did a good defensive job that was reflected during a large part of this time. Although the locals took the lead on the scoreboard, it gave the sensation that the duel would not be decided until the last bars of the last quarter.

However, the reality was very different. The errors, the precipitations and the local success in distant shots meant that the match was increasingly tilting towards Tirso Incentro. The excellent 30 minutes of the visitors were fading into nothing, without the work done by the players of Magec Tías "Against Gender Violence" being reflected on the scoreboard.

The match ended with a score of 70 to 57 for the peninsulars, who remain solid at the top of the standings. The Canaries returned to the islands hurt in morale by the defeat, but proud of the performance they gave.

In the next match, the Lanzarote team will receive Maristas Coruña, on Saturday at 8:00 p.m., in the penultimate match of the 2022/2023 League. Meanwhile, it will be time to recover the players who are injured, touched or overloaded after so many minutes on the court this season.
