The Conejero Veteran Football Association (AFUVECO) is in luck, after the collaboration agreement reached with the Cabildo of Lanzarote. An agreement that will allow "the purchase of sports equipment to increase the benefits of the teams" and "to be able to cover part of the expenses" that are generated in the normal development of the different competitions, the association announces.
The Sports Councilor of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Alfredo Mendoza, assures that "it is a responsibility of the institution to collaborate with the "Conejero Veteran Football Association"" and points out that "we will support the normal development of a competition in which 25 teams participate", between its two categories, and in which "a good number of people over 35 years of age" take part.
Although the agreement has been formalized now, the Cabildo has been collaborating for years with veteran football on the island, giving up the Lanzarote Sports City every Monday for the dispute of one of the scheduled matches, the team reports.
Currently, the Football Association has 25 affiliated teams, divided into the Preferential and First Category. Over the past few months, new requests have been received to belong to the association and be able to compete in the different competitions that are organized throughout the season, they add.
