The president of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Oswaldo Betancort, and the Minister of Sports, Juan Monzón, have received the island's women's futsal team, after winning the Canary Islands School Age Championship, which took place in Tenerife.
President Oswaldo Betancort wanted to congratulate the team "for their passion, dedication and effort for futsal, making Lanzarote and La Graciosa recognized as sports islands." "It is a pride for the island that they represent us in this kind of sports events and that they emerge victorious," he concluded.
For his part, the Minister of Sports, Juan Monzón, stated that "having placed first in the Canary Islands Championship is a great achievement for the athletes." "From the Cabildo we strongly support grassroots sports and the importance of maintaining an active life marked by physical exercise," he stresses.
It should be remembered that Tenerife hosted several sports disciplines of the XL Canary Islands School Age Championship last weekend, which were organized by the General Directorate of Sports of the Government of the Canary Islands.
