The fight that occurred last Saturday on the Tías football field continues to create controversy. The sports director of Sporting Tías, Alexis Lemes, has contacted La Voz to deny the version of the president of the Puerto del Carmen team.

Lemes wanted to make it clear that the statements of the opposing team are "totally false". Although he acknowledges that "they don't know exactly what happened", he pointed out that the result of the match was the trigger for the fight. In addition, he wanted to explain that his players "say that it was the young man from P.D.C. who went after them for a penalty".

Sporting Tías goes further and has argued that the injuries suffered by the alleged victim were from hitting "more than one child" and has concluded that "the injury report he has in his hand is from the blows he gave". The club from Lanzarote has defended its perspective of the events, which is very different from the version given by the management of the Puerto del Carmen Sports Club. According to the Tías team, the fight was only with one young man, not with more. "He dedicated himself to assaulting, mainly with punches, a child from our team", Lemes remarked.

In addition, he assures that the president's words are "a joke", and that they have taken the opportunity to "excuse themselves with racist insults". "They have waited until Thursday to condemn the events, they are seeing that they have been exposed, and they decide to exaggerate this to see if they can come out well", Lemes complains.

Lemes criticizes that the Puerto del Carmen team "did not report" the racist insults from the first moment, preferring to "insult the referee" of the match on social media. "It's incredible. Instead of condemning the racist and violent act, they start insulting the referee on Facebook". According to Lemes, it was the P.D.C. coordinator who began to "talk about how badly the referee had refereed the match". He points out that they "are bad losers", an attitude that only makes "the players get more fired up", he adds.

From the management of the Tías club, they have positioned themselves in favor of their players and what was reported by the referee. "I trust the referee's report more than what the president says", added the manager, who is angry with the rival team. "They have no tact, and they haven't even contacted us", he assured.

Sporting Tías has indicated that "they are going to deny everything in a statement", that "they condemn all kinds of violence and racist words". At the same time, they have pointed out that they will take measures if something like this happens again. "If it happens again, we are going to kick the players off the team". But they emphasize that the fault lies with "all the players".

A situation that carries serious consequences for the image of both teams. "It is outrageous that in the times we are in, they accuse us of being racist", the manager concludes.
