The sports management of UD Lanzarote continues working on the preparation of the squad to face a new campaign in the Canarian group of the Third Division with guarantees. The red-and-whites will reinforce the right wing with the signing of Javier Zafra, a player who last season was under the orders of Josu Uribe in the ranks of Xerez Deportivo.
Francisco Javier Zafra de los Santos, born on March 28, 1993 in Seville, is a player who usually occupies the position of right winger, although he can also play as a full-back if the team needs it. He stands out for having a great top speed and a lot of technical quality with the ball at his feet, so he has a great capacity to get past players on the wing.
He is a footballer who has developed his sports career between the Second Division “B” and the Third Division and even made his debut in the Second Division “A” with Xerez CD. He has competed in the bronze division of Spanish football at San Fernando, Villanovense and Córdoba “B”, while in the Third Division he has defended the colors of AD Ceuta, Arcos, Atlético Sanluqueño, Racing Club Portuense, Algeciras and Xerez Deportivo.
Last season he was a player for Xerez Deportivo, a team with which he qualified among the top four and played in the play-off for promotion to the Second Division “B”. He had Josu Uribe as coach, so he is a footballer who knows the new UD Lanzarote coach perfectly for the upcoming season.
The right winger Zafra becomes the fifth signing of UD Lanzarote for the 2020/2021 season and joins the incorporations of left back Javi Morales, winger Kevin Camacho, attacking midfielder Adrián Machín and midfielder Dani González.
